Some careers are built by following a path.
Mine has been built by learning how to operate when there is no path.
I am a U.S. Army veteran, Private Investigator, author of six completed books, artist, musician, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur, aviator, and creator.
My life has taken me through military service, intelligence, counterintelligence, federal service, investigation, entrepreneurship, aviation, drone operations, spacecraft concept design, music production, visual art, writing, publishing, and product development.
Different worlds. Same mindset:
Observe. Question. Adapt. Create. Build.
I began my Army career as a heavy-wheeled vehicle mechanic, wrecker operator, fuel handler, tool room manager, and M60 machine gunner. Those early roles taught me mechanical problem-solving, accountability, self-reliance, teamwork, and how to get things done in less-than-ideal conditions.
My military career later moved into Human Intelligence and Counterintelligence, including intelligence collection, interrogations, source operations, tactical and strategic debriefings, threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, battlefield forensics, force protection, and behavioral analysis.
I later served with the Internal Revenue Service, a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in taxpayer protection operations. Today, I work as a Private Investigator, bringing that same intelligence-driven approach to evidence, research, people, problems, and the search for facts.
Outside investigative work, creativity has always been an equally important part of who I am.
I am the creator behind Seghetti Art, a songwriter and producer with Xing The Line, founder of Dragon Lantern Productions, creator of Seghetti's Top Secret Seasoning, and the author of six completed nonfiction books spanning human intelligence, critical thinking, resilience, preparedness, urban capability, human behavior, evidence, accountability, and decision-making under uncertainty.
My completed books are The Modern Ghost Field Manual, The Modern Ghost Field Guide, The Unscripted Operator, The Modern Ghost: Urban Fieldcraft, Human Intelligence, and The Accountability Gap.
Together, they form a growing body of work built around one central idea: understand reality clearly, question assumptions, remain adaptable, and build practical capability before you need it.
My recent work includes a major Veterans Memorial Mural in downtown Clarksville, Tennessee; six completed nonfiction books; original songwriting and music production; visual media and filmmaking projects; aviation and unmanned systems; and continued exploration of technology and spacecraft concept design for space companies.
Whatever I am working on, the philosophy is the same:
Understand it. Question it. Improve it. Create something worthwhile.
One philosophy that has strongly influenced my life comes from Miyamoto Musashi's The Book of Five Rings. In describing the different ways people move through life, Musashi writes of the paths of the Warrior, Farmer, Artisan, and Merchant.
Looking back at my own life, I realized I have walked each of them.
Warrior — Military service taught me discipline, preparation, courage, adaptability, and calm under pressure.
Farmer — Working the land and working with machinery, tools, concrete, and physical labor taught me patience, self-reliance, and the value of sustained effort.
Artisan — Art, music, writing, design, and production taught me how to turn ideas, experiences, and imagination into something real.
Merchant — Building Seghetti's Top Secret Seasoning and my other ventures taught me how to transform creativity into products, businesses, brands, and opportunities.
Each path taught me something different.
Together, they shaped who I am.
That is why I believe one of life's most important questions isn't:
“What do you want to be?”
It is:
Titles change. Careers change. Circumstances change.
Character stays with you.
I value competence over titles, substance over appearances, loyalty over convenience, and results over recognition.
I am a Private Investigator by profession, an investigator by instinct, a strategist by experience, an entrepreneur by choice, an author through experience and study, and a creator by nature.
Family, faith, and duty to country remain at the center of everything I do.
My goal is simple:
Keep learning. Keep building. Keep creating. Give something back.
Live fully. Learn relentlessly. Master your mind. Sharpen your craft. Strive to become your best in all things.
That is The Way.
My story is still being written.
And I'm nowhere near finished.
