Some careers are built by following a path.
Mine was built by operating without one.
I am a U.S. Army veteran, investigative professional, author of eleven nonfiction books, artist, musician, entrepreneur, and aviator. My background spans military counterintelligence, federal service, private investigative work, heavy mechanics, unmanned systems, filmmaking, publishing, and product development.
Different fields.
Same operating principle:
Observe. Question. Adapt. Build.
The Evolution
I began my Army career turning wrenches as a heavy-wheeled vehicle mechanic, wrecker operator, and M60 machine gunner. I later transitioned into Human Intelligence (HUMINT) and Counterintelligence, specializing in interrogations, source operations, tactical and strategic debriefings, screenings, battlefield forensics, and behavioral assessment.
I later supported Special Operations in Afghanistan as a Counterintelligence Support Specialist, working in environments where incomplete information, credibility, threat assessment, and accurate reporting had real consequences.
After the military, I worked in taxpayer protection operations for the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of the Treasury, conducting fraud and identity-risk investigations. I have also worked in the private-investigation field on insurance and workers' compensation cases involving surveillance, claimant activity documentation, investigative research, and report writing.
I am currently completing the Tennessee Private Investigator licensing process and continuing to apply the same evidence-driven approach to civilian investigative work.
But analysis is only half the equation.
I also build.
I founded Seghetti Art, Dragon Lantern Productions, Seghetti's Top Secret Seasoning, and the musical project Xing The Line. Whether painting a Veterans Memorial Mural in downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, composing music, developing a product, or working through a technical problem, the objective remains the same:
Find out what is true, strip away assumptions, and build something that survives contact with reality.
The Way
Miyamoto Musashi wrote of four ways of life:
Warrior, Farmer, Artisan, and Merchant.
I have lived each of them.
- ⚔️ Warrior taught me discipline, adaptability, responsibility, and how to function when conditions stop cooperating.
- 🚜 Farmer taught me patience, deliberate work, and self-reliance.
- 🛠️ Artisan taught me how to take an idea and turn it into something tangible.
- 💰 Merchant taught me how to turn ideas into products, businesses, and opportunities that have to survive outside my own imagination.
Those paths led me to a simple belief:
The defining question of a life is not “What do you want to be?”
It is:
“Who do you want to be?”
Titles change. Careers shift. Circumstances break.
Character remains.
I value competence over credentials, substance over appearances, and results over recognition. I am an investigator by instinct, a strategist by experience, and a creator by nature. Family, faith, and duty to country anchor everything I do.
My objective is simple:
Keep learning. Keep building. Keep creating. Give something back.
That is The Way.
And I am nowhere near finished.
